
Writing a book really opens your eyes to all the possiblities, and I’ve been looking for ages to write a really comprehensive guide to the most popular application frameworks on the internet today. So now I’ve finally got round to doing it, It’s really exciting.

I’ve always been a bit… pessimistic about Rails and Rails apps. But of course, I am a CodeIgniter boy so that is where my true loyalties lye. But things change. Especially after founding FourthTimeLucky, I’ve been thinking about experimenting as much as possible. You know, it might be interesting to see what Django is like, for example.
When I bought a small, cheap and not very powerful VPS today, I thought “hell, why not?” and proceeded to gem install rails.
One word I can say to you. Wow.

The majority of people will learn one or two programming languages, usually a server-side language or an application language such as PHP or C++, and a client-side language like JavaScript. To me it seems much more sense for someone to widen his/her range as much as he can, learn as many languages, to give them a much richer view of code in general.
Here is a list of five programming languages that I defiantly recommend learning!

If you are a designer, you will come to a point where you will make two or three designs for a client, and two of them will be rejected. Usually, you would either delete them, or store them in some far off archiving system. All that work, for nothing. It’s a shame really, and wouldn’t it be good if we could do something with the time and effort we put in to creating these unwanted masterpieces.
